A strong first-order electroweak phase transition provides a possible mechanism to generate baryon asymmetry in the early universe, and it may impact on the thermal environment of dark matter formation and evolution. Also, gravitational wave signals from first-order phase transitions and cosmic strings are important targets of gravitational wave experiments such as PTA, LIGO, LISA, Taiji and Tianqin. In this talk, I will share our recent progress in the study of symmetry breaking in the early universe, including physics of Higgs mechanism, dark matter and gravitational waves.



人物介紹:

邊立功,2013年博士畢業于南開大學,此后到中國科學院理論物理研究所從事博士后研究,2016年入職重慶大學,2017至2019年得到韓國研究員計劃資助在韓國中央大學任 Research Professor,現為重慶大學副研究員。主要研究方向是粒子物理和粒子宇宙學,包括:希格斯物理、暗物質、正反物質不對稱、早期宇宙對稱性破缺及其產生的隨機引力波背景的研究等。
