Trapped ion has long been considered as one of the most promising physical realization of quantum network and quantum computation. In the student seminar, I will first give a brief introduction to the idea of trapped ion quantum network. And then I will focus on the preparation of maximally entangled photon pairs (Bell state) using Spontaneous Parametric Down-Conversion (SPDC) process. This process is what I am going to perform in the lab.
